Water education programs

Rous County Council is now partnering with Dorroughby Environmental Education Centre through a joint regional education initiative to deliver water education programs throughout the Northern Rivers.

Dorroughby Environmental Education Centre is a NSW Department of Education and Communities facility located just 20 minutes north east of Lismore. Experienced teachers can provide a range of water education programs for primary and secondary students, within schools, at Dorroughby Environmental Education Centre and at Rocky Creek Dam.

The aim of the programs is to support regional schools with relevant, local water education activities that meet Australian curriculum outcomes. The activities are designed to inspire students and empower them to act.
